Macromedia updated the remoting classes and additional stuff to Flash 8.
The installer includes:
- Flash Remoting Component
- Support files for Flash 8
- NetConnection Debugger
- HTML content that can be viewed within the Help panel in Flash
- ActionScript 2.0 API class source code

This definitely include the source code right?
Because before we had to install the code seperately for MX2K4
Source Code for Macromedia Flash Remoting for Flash MX 2004 ActionScript 2.0:
http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashremoting/mx2004/components/actionscript_2.0/flashremoting_comp_sourcecode.zip
Ok, I have just installed the .dmg (I am on OS X) on my Mac, and the classes :
mx.rpc.*
mx.remoting.*
mx.data.(some extra classes ontop of the existing data set)
mx.services.Log.as
mx.utils.(some extra classes ontop of the existing utils set)
were NOT installed.
The above MX2K4 source code will still need to be installed manually.
WIN XP SP2- the source classes were installed correctly for me (C:\Program Files\Macromedia\Flash 8\en\First Run\Classes\mx)
I was however bummed out that they didn’t fix the bug I posted in the 8ball beta regarding sharing connection objects
