Mac Book Cycle Count?

When you are a Mac Book/Pro user watch your cycle count meaning how often your battery has recharged. You should use your battery here and then otherwise the battery lifetime decreases rough. My wife didn’t use the battery for a longer time and the battery performance was a mess. Apple support wanted to know the cycle count which was low and said: “Of course you have to use it frequently, oh and yes, this is in no manual and you get no exchange”.

System Profiler (Apple->About this Mac->More Info…)->Hardware->Power->Health Information.

My cycle count is 62 and condition “good” though which is ok for my 3 month old laptop.

    Thanks for the tip! I hardly ever use the battery in my 17″ MBP. The cycle count is 92 “good”.

    I’ll have to start using the battery more often i think..

    cheers!

  • My cycle count is 238, and the condition is “Check battery”. Wonder what that means? 😉

  • Thanks! My cycle count is only 33, and my MacBook Pro 15″ is already three years old! I couldn’t find anything about the condition rating, is that a feature of newer generations of MacBooks?

  • Claudia, that is not much so I guess the lifetime is not that long anymore, is it?
    I heard removing the battery would be good if you use it only with cable however who wants that …

    I’m at 431 Cycle Count and my battery still says good condition in System Profiler.

    I just checked my macbook and it’s at 201, the computer is 1 year and 5 months old and the other day the battery just decided to die! Pretty dissapointed.

    My Macbook white is less than a year old. My cycle count is 300. I guess that’s okay?

    Cycle count: 736
    Condition: Good

    22 months. Time for new battery I guess

  • My cycle count is 637 and i have my mac book white for 3 years. My friends cycle count is 156 and we bought it at the same time. It says that our battery condition in good, so we were wondering how should we prolong the life of the battery. Im afraid to loose my battery so i just remove it and just use power source to save from using it. AM I doing the right thing?
